As a friend or alumni of any Hubbard College of Administration, you are already part of a 5,000 member group that spans the world! To bring us a little closer together, we are excited to present you with the first issue of Tiger Times, the Alumni & Friends Association newsletter. Each month, we’ll take you to different countries and feature fellow Alumni & Friends who are applying administrative technology, achieving their goals and contributing to the societies in which they live.
Alumni & Friends Profile
Terry Morrill graduated from California Polytechnic University with a degree in Architectural Engineering and then attended Hubbard College of Administration International for business management training. He has spent his career in the building industry from real estate development to general construction.
Terry and his sons, Trent and Chad, acquired Pacific Pavingstone in 1999 and built a reputation for the highest quality masonry and paving stone work in Southern California. Also in 1999, they formed California Waterscapes, which subsequently became the largest installer of natural looking landscape ponds. A few of their successes include awards from the Interlocking Concrete Paving Institute and Inc. 500 Magazine, which recognized them as one of America’s Fastest Growing Privately-Owned Companies. They have now won the Inc. 500 award 2 years running. They also received the Inter City Inc. 100 Award for 2005.
Terry tells of his experiences with Hubbard College: “When I started the company in 1999, I had been involved in many businesses over the previous 30 years. This new company was in fact going to be my thirteenth. In the past, I had been introduced to Hubbard Administrative Technology but did not always apply it to my business. “The company was doing about a million a year in gross revenue prior to enrolling in courses at HCA. Once there, I was required to write a strategic plan for my business. The method Mr. Hubbard worked out for developing a strategic plan was brilliant. I had to align all aspects of my business from the idea stage to exactly how I would achieve my goal for the business. I remember going over my plan with a faculty member and envisioning the company growing to over 12 million in gross revenue over the next five years. My thought at that time was that this is unreal and only a miracle could make it happen. But, we not only hit that goal – we are now on our way to doing 20 million in gross revenue this year!
“We have built an unstoppable machine that continues to produce high-quality products. We also provide customer service beyond customer expectations. I learned how to do both of these things at Hubbard College. I feel that the knowledge I gained from HCA has been invaluable. My training gave me the business fundamentals and systems needed to successfully build my business.”
